Karen MacIver: Emily Wilding Davison [download]

£5.50

For two pianos. From the PianoPiano project, a collection evoking the spirit of ten remarkable women.

Computer typeset score (17p) saved as pdf for immediate download.

This score evokes the high drama of Emily Wilding Davison, the infamous English suffragette who gained a reputation as a militant and violent campaigner, jailed many times for the cause.

The rawness of the strident chords represents Emily’s final protest which led her to the Epsom Derby over 100 years ago, where she accidentally or suicidally threw herself under King George V’s horse, with fatal consequences.

Recording available on CD.
