About The Glasgow Barons
The Glasgow Barons builds hope, resilience, teamwork, listening and communication through music in Govan. Since 2017, we’ve been working with schools, community groups, asylum seekers, and local people to create transformative musical experiences in one of Glasgow’s most vibrant communities. We support groups like Musicians In Exile (asylum-seeking musicians) and those recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, local schools and local singer-songwriters and rappers to tell Govan’s story. We align closely with NSPCC Together for Childhood Govan and other local partners to maximise our impact.
Creative Communities Producer
The Creative Communities Producer will be the Community Liaison Partner for Govan, and our three city-wide communities of interest:-
Those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction,
Asylum seekers and refugees
The baby strings programme within Primary Schools across the city.
This is a broad and varied role which involves implementing key strategic Glasgow Barons objectives to deliver ‘on the ground’ musical services in the community. This will involve getting involved in the heart of the community; ranging from interacting with the public in a shopping centre and poster/leaflet drops, to working face to face with the groups delivering musical services within our communities. The post will involve evening/weekend work and the main part of the job will be undertaken from the office based in the Govan area of Glasgow.
