Lillias Scott retrospectively dedicated Poems of Love, her first volume of poetry, published in 1966,

to my husband, Erik Chisholm, Scottish composer, died 8th June 1965 these poems are dedicated.
May the rare genius of his love yet find echo in their lines.

In 1962 Lillias and Erik, who would be married the next year, selected the seven poems which Erik set to music for Lillias’ mezzo soprano. They performed them often in concerts in Scotland and South Africa in the short time they had together
