'This prelude for concert harp is from an ongoing series in which the composer hopes to include most instruments, learning and exploring their characteristics. Prelude 10 is a set of variations on a short clarsach (small Scottish harp) piece in folk style which the composer wrote in 1976 - The Harper, which appears on the CD Whistlebinkies 1 (1979). The composer studied the clarsach for a short period with Sanchia Pielou to whom the piece has been dedicated.'
