Edward McGuire: Fantasy for Solo Guitar [download]

Fantasy was written in 1967 and first performed on July 2 that year at a ‘Composer’s Circle’ concert in the London Musical Club in Holland Park by Richard Turner.

It was not performed again until February 1990 when a revised version was played by the French guitarist Anne Chaurand at a Scotland-USSR Society concert in Glasgow. I am grateful to Anne Chaurand for reviving one of my ‘student’ pieces and for suggestions on fingerings etc.
