Routes Into Jazz

Ready to connect with like minds and deepen your work in organising jazz or improvised music?

Now’s your chance. Routes into Jazz is a mentoring scheme in England and Scotland for the next generation of creative movers and shakers working behind—and for—the music.

Over twelve months, you’ll get:

  • Friendly, focused one-to-one mentoring from experienced jazz organisers — a proper critical friend.

  • Energising group sessions and peer support, where ideas, challenges and wins are shared openly.

  • Placements with standout arts organisations, festivals, and record labels — real-world learning in real time.

This scheme is shaped by you and the people beside you: a space to exchange knowledge, set bold goals, and boost your skills — whether you want sharper programming instincts, stronger audience development, new strategies for building sustainable scenes, or simply support from people who get it.

Every step is about growing together, sharing what works (and what doesn’t), and helping each other take those all-important next steps.

Let’s build a brighter, stronger, more inclusive future for the UK’s jazz and improvised music community. Are you in? Apply here by 30th January 2026 (Application link and guidance) or email jpnroutesintojazz@gmail.com
