Now’s The Time is a new jazz sector development project set up by Creative Scotland and managed by independent research agency EKOS, working with jazz specialist and organiser Nod Knowles.
The project is informed by recent research by Edinburgh Napier University and inspired by moments when the jazz community has come together to share experiences and ideas. We hope that the project will tap into the sector’s collective energy and imagination and that it will be the next practical step to the research report.
The first phase of the project is about gathering views, insights and experiences from people across the jazz community in Scotland and will involve a series of interviews and workshops as well as three online surveys. These are listed below and can be accessed by clicking on the following links:
We want Now’s the Time to be fully informed by the widest possible cross section of the jazz community, so please take the time to contribute to one (or more) survey depending on your role in the sector. Each survey should take no more than 10 or 15 minutes to complete and all responses will be treated in the strictest confidence. As per EKOS’s privacy policy, EKOS will only hold your response for the duration of the project and all responses will be deleted on completion. Your responses will only be used for analysis by EKOS and any information you provide will be anonymised in reporting and would not identify you or your organisation.
If you need help completing this survey, or if you want to provide your answers in a different format, please contact Clare Hewitt, Creative Scotland (Clare.Hewitt@creativescotland.com) or Michael Dunn, EKOS Consultant (Michael.dunn@ekos.co.uk).
