Call for musicians: St. Magnus International Festival 50th anniversary festival orchestra 
16th-23rd June 2026 

 In 2026 the St. Magnus International Festival, in the Orkney Islands, celebrates its 50th anniversary. To mark this occasion, we are gathering a special festival orchestra for two concerts. The orchestra will be led by experienced performers, but this opportunity offers a unique side-by-side experience for those still studying or in the early stages of their career. Join us this summer for an opportunity to work with experienced professionals and to be part of one of Scotland’s most significant summer events in the extraordinary and historic environment of Orkney.   

Availability Required: 16th–23rd June 2026 (inclusive).

Successful candidates will receive:

 • A performance fee for the project.

 • Travel to Orkney from mainland Scotland (via land and sea). 

 • Accommodation for the duration of the festival.
