Location: Govan, Glasgow
Time Commitment: Approximately 6-8 days per year (quarterly board meetings plus occasional events/sub-committee work)

About The Glasgow Barons
The Glasgow Barons builds hope, resilience, teamwork, listening and communication through music in Govan. Since 2017, we’ve been working with schools, community groups, asylum seekers, and local people to create transformative musical experiences in one of Glasgow’s most vibrant communities. We support groups like Musicians In Exile (asylum-seeking musicians) and those recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, local schools and local singer-songwriters and rappers to tell Govan’s story. We align closely with NSPCC Together for Childhood Govan and other local partners to maximise our impact.
The Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint two new trustee to join our board. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Community Development & Social Work
Experience working with vulnerable communities, E.g Asylum seekers, refugees, those recovery from drug & alcohol addiction and those experiencing poverty. You’ll bring insight into the needs of the communities we serve and help ensure our programmes are responsive, trauma-informed, and genuinely impactful.
Fundraising & Development
Strategic fundraising experience across trusts, foundations, corporate partnerships, individual giving, or earned income. You’ll help diversify our income streams, strengthen our case for support, and build long-term financial sustainability.
Education Sector
Experience of Glasgow’s school system. You’ll strengthen our relationships with local schools and ensure our educational programmes deliver meaningful outcomes for young people.
