The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra (SNJO) is Scotland’s professional contemporary and classic jazz ensemble and is the only truly national orchestra in the UK.
The SNJO is looking for an Orchestra Manager to provide comprehensive day-to-day management and administrative support to the organisation, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of both the SNJO and the Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra (TSYJO).
The Orchestra Manager will, in addition, assist the Board of Trustees in fulfilling their strategic and operational responsibilities. The role will suit an exceptionally organised and self-motivated individual with a passion for the Arts, in particular for Jazz. This is a wide-ranging role, and an outstanding opportunity for someone with the ambition to develop their career in management of an Arts Organisation.
All aspects of the discipline are covered in this role. Bringing ideas to fruition includes fundraising, planning and production while ensuring the smooth running of the organisation as well as being an outward face and advocate for the orchestras. In addition, the role includes marketing to both existing and new audiences to ensure the continued development and success of the orchestras.
Part time Option: Given the wide range of requirements for this role, the Board of Trustees is willing to consider the role being filled by 2 exceptional candidates sharing the hours per week, with the salary being pro-rated accordingly. If you believe your skills cover at least 50% of this role and you wish to work part time with some weekends and evenings, please send in your application indicating this as your preference.
