CHECKLIST

The following list of questions have been designed as a pre-recording checklist to maximise the chances of making a high-quality recording. The individual boxes should all be ticked before proceeding with the recording.

Are the doors, windows and curtains closed?
Is the background noise at a minimum? For example, is there a ticking clock somewhere?
Is it a convenient time to begin recording? For instance, is the school bell about to ring?
Is everything (eg. microphone) positioned as you want it to be?
Are all the recording settings as they should be?
Are the performers ready to start playing?
Have all the performers tuned their instruments?
Do any of the instruments distort when the volume is up fully?
