A jury of distinguished musicians, chaired by John Wallace, one of Britain’s foremost instrumentalists and Principal of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, judged the competitors.

The music of the world’s great composers will be interpreted by this new generation of pianists at the initial rounds in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

During the first 4 days of the competition each pianist gave a 25-minute recital at the RSAMD. Twelve musicians then proceeded to the semi-final, each giving a 55-minute recital. Only four went forward to the dramatic final before a capacity audience of more than 2000 people at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on September 18, 2004.
Each played a concerto of their choice with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under its renowned principal conductor Alexander Lazarev.
Drama, tension and passion before the jury chose their winner. Catch the highlights of the competition in this CD which features the very best up and coming pianists in the world.
