Commissioned by the The Glasgow International Jazz Festival in association with the Scottish Arts Council, Beasts of Scotland is a collection of compositions by Tommy Smith inspired by the wildlife of Scotland from the golden eagle to the salmon to the midge! This album is a collaboration between music, poetry and visual arts with words by Edwin Morgan and illustrations by Neil Boyce to accompany each piece. With Guy Barker (trumpet, flumpet, flugen horn), Andy Panayi (flute, alto sax), Steve Hamilton (piano, synthesiser), Alec Dankworth (bass), and Tom Gordon , (drums, percussion).
