Robert Johnson 1753 - 1753

Artists | Classical | Composers and Arrangers

Born Duns, Berwickshire. Little is known of his life, but was apparently a priest, accused of hersy and fled to England long before the Scottish Reformation in 1560. His compositions range from sacred polyphonic choral settings of Latin and English texts, secular anthems and madrigals, and some instrumental works. His choral music has been recorded by Cappella Nova, and a performing edition of his complete sacred music is in preparation.
