Nicky Hind composes music with healing and meditative qualities. Elements and e-motions, atmospheres and imaginations, inhabit a musical world not easily placed within temporal and cultural coordinates. Following his debut recording, Hindsight (1987), Nicky Hind has remained a personal and individualistic weaver of sonic imagery for acoustic and electro-acoustic media - his recent compositions, such as Ripples, for soloist and electronics having been warmly received. A Scottish native, currently resident in California, he was for a time immersed in the development of a new computer-based music performance system, following research in music technology at Stanford University. Now re-emerging as a composer/performer, Nicky Hind creates music in harmony and balance with nature and the current of life.
