Bruce Fraser b. 1947

Born India, educated in Scotland. Studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music. After a spell in Ireland he returned to Scotland as an instrumental teacher and freelance trombonist. He began writing seriously in the 1970s for schools and was soon in demand to write pieces for a wide range of both amateur and professional groups. In 1982 he founded Lomond Music which now boasts nearly 200 titles, with a special commitment to producing educational materials. His most recent works include a Magnificat for Dumfermline Choral Union (1996); Firepower (1997) for the 1997 Royal Tournament; and Dunblane Suite (1997), premiered by the Dunblane High School Orchestra.
