Anthea Haddow

Anthea studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama,
graduating in 1992 with a BA (MusPerf) and CPGS in Orchestral studies.
Whilst there she was awarded the Violoncello Prize and the Governors Recital Prize for Chamber Music.

Since 1992 Anthea has performed and written for a diverse range of music ensembles and theatre companies. She joined Theatre Cryptic in 1994 and has composed scores for Celle-La, Prologue, Black over Red, Each and Every Inch, Tunnel Visions and Apocalypse. Work with other companies includes Tron Theatre Company, TAG, Benchtours, Lung Ha’s, Theatre Babel, The Dunedin Consort and Dundee Rep Theatre.
Her work has been widely performed in Central and Eastern Europe, North and South America.

Awards include a Year of the Artist award for This Orphaned Stone a sound and visual project based on the island of St Kilda. Anthea and Kenny Macleod were nominated for best music in Scottish Theatre for the Dundee Rep production of Scenes from an Execution.

Apocalypse, with Mark O’Keeffe (trumpet), commissioned by Cork European City of Culture 2005, is released on the Cryptic label. The People’s Mass with The Dunedin Consort, is released on the Delphian label.
