Previous Projects
Both these projects were funded by Creative Scotland's Youth Music Initiative (previously Scottish Arts Council) to support and create access to high quality music making programmes particularly for young people that would not normally engage in music activities.

Phonik Music Workshops ran from October 2007 until September 2008, aimed at young people between 14-25 years of age who had an interest in composition and digital music making through new technology. Throughout the project the young participants had the opportunity to learn DJ skills, music sequencing and multitrack recording, lyric writing and performance skills.
The project also resulted in some outreach work and a small remix project with a small group of Slovakian musicians keen to learn how to record their own music.

Sample This! ran from October 2008 until September 2009, aimed at young people between 14-25 years of age who were looking to work with have instrumental tuition, learn how to use samplers and create a library of loops to use in music software. Sample This! was able to teach music theory through interactive methods: drums were useful for teaching rhythm, bass guitar and guitar for chord structure and keyboards for melody and notation. Combining this with sampling and music technology made it more hands on and interactive.
