Would you like to live an extra 200 years? How about as a mega corporation’s experiment – on the surface a supercool, enhanced super-human? Everything’s perfect, apart from those that control you.

Meet our guide to the multifaceted expectations of a future world – Kid_X (Malick Bright aka Android_X), the flex and krump dance prodigy, fitted with a prototype bionic heart, who falls for Gabriella (Amanda Attwood), the famous rooftop acrobat. His heart is corporate property and she’s dedicated to her millions of followers.

At the centre of the story is singer/songwriter Eva Lazarus, who’s been making waves in the world of British hip-hop, reggae, and underground music. Singing brand new songs written specifically for the project, she plays Dr Lazarus, the trailblazing inventor and Kid_X’s overbearing guardian on a mission to save the world. Musically, the show draws on music of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora including reggae, dubstep, drum’n’bass  and is heavily inspired by UK sound system culture.

KID_X is a first of its kind, bringing together the creative powerhouses of Eva Lazarus, Mungo’s Hifi, Feral, Bassline Circus, MHz AND award-winning Scottish animators OnceWereFarmers  Expect hand-balancing, Flexin, Krump, BoneBreaking, hypnotic video projections, and heavy bass.

This is a get on your feet, forward-thinking, tech-edge show that defies categorisation. Somewhere between digital circus and dance, with all the energy of an all-night rave, KID_X is a vision of the future.

Supported by a Tramway Commission, Macrobert Arts Centre, Creative Scotland, PRS Foundation Open Fund, Platform, NoFitState & Arts Council England.

Eva Lazarus is the lead musical performer but has a string of personal tour dates over the upcoming year. To avoid any date clashes for onward touring we would like to welcome onboard an understudy for Dr. Lazarus.
You will play a maverick biotech scientist who runs Lazarus industries. An authoritative figure who can seamlessly move between singing to rapping to delivering lines. The role is suited to someone who commands a sense of maturity and fierceness.
You will need to confidently and quickly learn pre devised material; from  specially written songs from the show, a handful of scripted lines and some basic choreography

“ the role is really fun and empowering and would suit someone who is comfortable performing reggae/dancehall, whilst also channelling a delightfully evil scientist persona”Eva Lazarus
