Thousands of music fans descended on Dundee at the end of the month for the 15th annual Dundee Blues Bonanza. About 60 bands took to the stage for 130 gigs at more than 30 city centre venues.

The event, considered the biggest free music festival in Europe, drew more than 12,000 people and acts from across the UK, elsewhere in Europe and North America.

Event chairman Bob Telford stated: “Everyone is saying it’s the best Dundee Blues Bonanza ever. It is really living up to expectations. People are happy. They have heard a lot of music they want to hear and they’ll be back next year. There’s music on throughout the city – that’s the whole idea – and the calibre of music is very, very high.”
