Almost 200 primary school children from Bridgeton filled the Academy's concert hall for the first performance of a musical show entitled Ocean Journey; a song-based choral and musical show that, through the eyes and voices of children, explores the fantastical, eco-sensitive world of the ocean and its inhabitants.

The project was conceived, developed, realised and promoted by a company called Little Larks, specialising in community music education projects. The company was co-founded in 2007 by two young musicians, Andrew McTaggart, now in his early twenties, and Claire McKenzie, just 21. What the two have in common is that they are both still students at the RSAMD.

"We got on well, worked as a team, and had the same sort of ideas," reflected McKenzie
