One of rock star Noel Gallagher’s favourite new bands has become the latest act to sign up for the north-east’s biggest music event. Fresh from supporting Oasis, Paul Weller and Kasabian, Twisted Wheel have joined the line-up for the Wizard Festival, which will take place at New Deer on August 28 and 29.

Scottish bands Luva Ana and The Ray Summers have also been added to the bill for the event, and will join established acts such as The Charlatans, The Levellers, Idlewild and The Buzzcocks at Craigieford Park – home of the New Deer Show.

Organiser Roy Thain said: “This year I think we have really pulled together our strongest line-up of acts to date.

“For fans and organisers alike, this year Wizard is going to be the best ever.”
