An annual event bringing chamber music to the streets of Scotland.

On Saturday 15th September 2012, some of Scotland’s finest professional musicians will be performing chamber music simultaneously at 1.00pm all over Scotland. This unique day has been arranged to celebrate and promote chamber music in Scotland by introducing chamber music to new audiences who are not regularly in contact with live music.

For the 2nd year running, National Chamber Music Day will have 75 musicians performing in 25 unusual locations all over Scotland. Their aim is to promote chamber music to the public and for promoters to make you aware of your local club. Tasters of the 500 concerts happening over the next year will be found at venues in Aberdeen, Angus, Arran, Falkirk, Argyll, Dollar, Irvine, Inverness, Dundee, Helensburgh, Dumfries, Linlithgow, Milngavie, Lockerbie, Melrose, Lochaber, Inverurie, Lanark, Aboyne, Perth, Strathearn, Peebles, Whithorn, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The musicians will be taking over public spaces in hospitals, museums, on a ferry, shopping centres, supermarkets, libraries, coffee mornings and more!

The concert list for the event, detailing where you can find your nearest concert, will be announced on Friday 31st August.
