David Paul Jones invited to compose for National Theatre Of China

Scottish Music Centre member David Paul Jones has recently been invited to compose the soundtrack to The Green Snake – a unique collaboration with the National Theatre Of China for the Hong Kong International Arts Festival 2013.
Based in Beijing, the National Theatre Of China creative team will be lead by Tian Qinxin, one of China’s leading theatre directors.
The production will be created in Beijing throughout 2012/13 and will premiere in Hong Kong in March 2013, followed by an extensive tour of China.
The Green Snake is based on an ancient Chinese story from the Song Dynasty and is an important and much-loved story in contemporary Chinese art and culture.
