Taylor Wilson performs at this year's Glasgow West End Festival
- Scottish Music Centre
- 8 May 2012
As part of the West End Festival programme, Taylor Wilson will explore a heady concoction of songs from the intimate world of French chanson of Edith Piaf, Erik Satie and Berlin cabaret, to sensual works of Astor Piazzolla and Portuguese Fado.
This multi-lingual vocalist enjoys turning the stage into worldwide territory where every song is a one-act play and not a syllable or nuance is left untouched or unconsidered. She is a unique force that blends a luscious classically-trained voice with an incomparable gift for dramatic truth-telling. Her versatility as a singer and an actress is leading her to be acclaimed in both the theatre and cabaret world.
Having performed in festivals across Europe and the Far East, Taylor is delighted to bring Alchemy to her home town of Glasgow to perform at this year’s West End Festival.
Why Alchemy? This programme allows her to explore the riches of the song texts and enjoy the unplanned creative interpretative choices that come with a live performance and the combination of cello, voice and piano/accordion is a perfect blend of instruments for both the timbre of her voice and the programme choice.
