Programme Note
This work is based upon a postcard I found in the Barras, in Glasgow, in the summer of 2008. I decided to set the text for the choir to sing - akin to a Glaswegian version of Alban Berg's Altenberg Lieder. The title of the piece is simply the date the postcard was written, while the musical inspiration comes from 1930s dance music, mixed with a short, Scottish melody I wrote for a friend's wedding in 2007.
