PRS for Music Foundation presents...
New Music 20x12
Technophonia
Drake Music Scotland
[b]Drake Music Scotland[/b] takes centre stage as part of the [b]London 2012 Cultural Olympiad[/b] with [i]Technophonia[/i], a new work by [b]Scottish Music Centre[/b] member and Chair, [b]Oliver Searle[/b], specially commissioned for three young [b]Drake Music Scotland[/b] soloists and pupils from the [b]City of Edinburgh Music School[/b]. Part of the [i]New Music 20x12[/i] programme initiated by [b]PRS for Music Foundation[/b], the work explores the creative potential of innovative music technologies – [i]Soundbeam, Brainfingers[/i] and [i]Skoog[/i] - within an inclusive ensemble of orchestral and electronic instruments. The evening’s programme also showcases performances by other young musicians in [b]Drake Music Scotland’s[/b] 15th anniversary year of supporting participants of all ages and with a wide range of disabilities to play, perform and compose music. [i]Technophonia[/i] is part of [b]PRS for Music Foundation’s[/b] [i]New Music 20x12 programme[/i], a UK-wide commissioning programme initiated by [b]Jillian Barker[/b] and [b]David Cohen[/b] and delivered in partnership with the [b]BBC, LOCOG[/b] and [b]NMC Recordings[/b]. Special thanks to [b]Creative Scotland[/b] for making this [i]New Music 20x12[/i] commission possible.
