The Turing Test

A one-hour chamber opera set in the near future. It tells the story of two rival scientists caught in a bitter struggle to be the first to build an intelligent machine - a machine that can pass the famous Turing Test. It is a tale of love, hate, admiration and envy, and the way in which professional rivalry is often a disguise for more basic, personal forms of animosity. New operas are rare on the Edinburgh Fringe. With no new opera on the Edinburgh International Festival this year, The Turing Test is sure to meet with excitement from opera and music fans alike.
