Programme Note
It's a characteristic of the organ that, as the density of chords changes, so does their intensity. The piece makes a virtue, or at least a feature, of this by permutating a series of chords made up of from one to twelve notes. The piece may be thought of as one long note of changing dimensions since, barring a few coughs and stutters at the start, there are no silences.
