Horizon Series Concerts RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Matthew Jones(soloist), Bobby Houlihan(conductor ) National Concert Hall, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin Aes Triplex is a set of relatively accessible pieces to open and close the concert. The concerto commemorates a great musician and advocate of new music, Charlie Maguire, to whom many of us owe a huge debt of gratitude. The centrepiece of the concert has a Scottish traditional influence and is by Derek's Scottish contemporary Bill Sweeney.
