[i]Éanlaith Strae/Stray Birds[/i] - multimedia celebration of Tagore's poetry, with orchestra, song, poetry speakers and film. The presentation is bilingual, with Irish translations by the eminent poet [b]Gabriel Rosenstock[/b], a one-hour music score by Donegal composer and SMC Member [b]Derek Ball[/b], and film art by Donegal-based artist [b]Ian Joyce[/b].

Éanlaith Strae / Stray Birds lasts about an hour and is a celebration of the poetry of Rabindranath Tagore, great Bengali writer whose 150th anniversary it is. Its music is continuous and is of three types : quiet static music accompanies the poetry recitations ; after some poems there is music specifically commenting on the content or mood of the words ; and some of the Irish translations are set as songs. The event is part of Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights.
