David Paul Jones is an Edinburgh-based composer, pianist and vocalist specialising in music for piano, the human voice and music for theatre. He has written and performed throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide including Australia, The Middle East and South America. He is producer of his contemporary classical collective DPJ Ensemble and his debut album Something There is recorded on Linn Records. His vocal works for other artists include songs written for soprano Lisa Milne, Alyth McCormack and choral works for the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union and the National Youth Choir of Scotland. His theatre soundtracks and sound designs include Parallel Lines (Theatre Cryptic); Those Eyes, That Mouth and The Devil’s Larder (Grid Iron); The Escapologist (Suspect Culture); Elizabeth Gordon Quinn (National Theatre Of Scotland); Something Wicked This Way Comes (Catherine Wheels & National Theatre Of Scotland); Four Men & A Poker Game (Metis Arts) and more recently Dolls (Hush Productions/NTS) in collaboration with the Glasgow band Zoey Van Goey. His theatre soundtracks and performances have been nominated twice for Best Use Of Music by the Critics Awards For Theatre In Scotland. David has been a shortlisted artist for the prestigious Creative Scotland Awards.
