Education and Learning
The Scottish Music Centre runs a number of education programmes aimed at young people and adults, focussing on all types and genres of music. A selection of these are highlighted below.
Past projects
Phonik
October 2007 – June 2008 5pm - 7pm
City Halls
GlasgowPhonik was funded by the Youth Music Initiative and supported by Glasgow's Concert Halls and enabled young people between the ages of 14 and 25 to develop their musical skills outwith their time in school, college or university.
Phonik Outreach
April - September 2008
Govanhill
GlasgowAs a development arising from the Phonik music workshops, this project aimed to provide outreach music to an established group of young people attending a EU/Czech/Slovak youth group in Govanhill, Glasgow.

GlasgowAnother great new project, funded by Youth Music Initiative, offers a cutting-edge evening course to 14-25 year olds.
Based in state-of-the-art facilities at Glasgow's City Halls, the course will teach you to play and record live instruments then create your own loops... your own sound library.
