Phamie Gow

Performer and composer/ arranger for the Scottish harp. Solo performances of traditional and original music. Played at Celtic Connections, the Royal Concert Hall, Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and Culzean Castle. Also was involved with the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival. Several commissions including one for an opening at Edinburgh Airport. Has appeared on various compilation albums, Dr Fred Freeman's Burns CD and Dumfries and Galloway Arts. Solo album Winged Spirit released in January 2000. Also founder member of band Wildceltz.

Artists | Folk and Traditional | Composers and Songwriters

Born Moffat. Attended Moffat Academy, and is currently at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She studied piano with Ronald Stevenson, but is better-known for her performances on the clarsach, especially at historic sites in Lowland Scotland. A descendant of Niel Gow, she writes as well as plays music. Her works include original compositions and arrangements for clarsach and for piano.
