Originally from Fair Isle, Chris progressed from Shetland Young Fiddler of the Year to the RSAMD in Glasgow, where he completed a degree in classical violin and a Masters in electro-acoustic composition. In short, a man of wide-ranging interests and abilities who plays with Fiddlers Bid and Salsa Celtica among others and now, to great critical acclaim, heads the Chris Stout Band. His solo album, First o' the Darkening, was released in May this year.
