Philomusica of Edinburgh

Formed in 1976 to give young musicians of high quality the oppurtunity to perform in a small chamber orchestra. Toured throughout Britain, the orchestra plays without a conductor and is directed by its leader, Lawrence Dunn. Wide ranging repertoire including works from the Baroque period through to the 20th century. Can perform concertos for various solo instruments (including violin, oboe, flute and harpsichord) as well as purely orchestral items. The ensemble varies between 12-20 players.
